Tension in a simple diaphragm model

I am trying to model a thin film diaphragm, which i have accomplished, but I also need to model the diaphragm with strain in it from applying tension during assembly. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

I am working under 2d axial symmetry, structural mechanics, stress-strain.

it depends a little on the version in 3.5 I beleive you are better out by using matlab to drive comsol, apply the first assembly, save the first study and continue from the initial values obtained this way.

In v4 you can do it by a two coupled stationary studies, one to get the stress set up, the other for your stressed study. You need to play a little with the solver though (good exercice ;)

If you know the stress tensor, then you can start with a stressed state, but often the correct stress tensor is not trivial
