Doubt on function expression

Dear all,

While going through the example of "L A S E R H E A T I N G O F A S I L I C O N WA F E R", I have seen that the expression for the analytic function is used and from the unit section, it is clear that the function is indicating the power flux. I am unable to understand how the expression can be deducted in terms of power/ Area. Also, why [1/watt] is written against power.

Can anybody clear my doubt.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Subhasish
