Change Parameters during study

Hi all. I have set up a model looking at the concentrations of nutrients. It is hard to explain but I have set up my initial parameters as follows,

I have an initial number of cells;

cells=5000

After the model solves it gives me the concentration of nutrients, but is there a way to set up the model that when the concentration reaches a critical level, say 1mM, then cells begin to die.

So can I loop my model to say something like

cells=if concentration<1mM then cells = 4000 and so on...

Im sorry if this makes no sense but its hard to explain. I would really appreciate any help.

Kind regards
