how to define an annulus heat source?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, All,
I am running heat-transfer model with COMSOL. my heat source is a electron beam which is uniformly bombarding an annulus region. I could think of two possible ways to define the corresponding heat-flux source:
1st) using the mathematical way of " annulus" if there is one;
or 2nd) set a small rectangle whose center is located on a circle.

but I don't what is the right equation/function to express these 2 ways, can anyone shine some light?

regards,
tao
