Beam and 3D solid connection

I am trying to model a Euler-Bernoulli beam embedded in solid. The part of the beam is projected above the solid. I would like to apply a point load (lateral) at the top of the beam (at the projected part) and analyze the problem. I would like to observe stresses in solid due to applied load on the beam. If the entire beam is fully embedded into the solid, the problem is working with general extrusion command. However, it is not working if the beam is partly projected above solid. Can anyone help how to make the coupling with projected and embedded part of the beam and link with solid?
