Cluster Setup problems

Can someone point me in the right direction in solving my issue with getting my mpd to load on my compute nodes. At this point it will only start up on the head node. I can ssh into all the nodes without passwd or restriction, but when i run >

.>comsol mpd boot -f mpd.hosts -n 4
totalnum=4 numhosts=1
there are not enough hosts on which to start all processes

any suggestions?

Also I am having trouble using my desktop computer to connect to the server. At this point I have to run through X windows and it's very slow. When ever I try to connect to the server on my home desktop it always times out. is there any special path name i need to use for the server since i'm logging in over a VPN at school?
