Hi,
I've been working with Comsol 3.4 and 3.5 and 3.5a prior to using 4.1 and 4.2. I'm having a video (avi) export problem in the 4.x versions, while it was working correctly in the 3.x versions:
Comsol successfully steps through all the time steps designated for the output video. Any .avi export ends with an error message "Failed to create movie file" if it should export in the MJPEG format, and with crashing Comsol and having a windows error if I set the DV format under preferences... However, .gif of the same sequence is exported correctly --- but I need the avi files and don't want to re-format them all again after creating .gifs.
Might that be a problem with codecs? I suppose the MJPEG or whatever codecs for compression should be delivered with comsol? I also already installed some trial version of a MJPEG compressor (hope the would be some freeware?) but that did not help. In the 3.x versions of Comsol, all video exports are fine.
Thanks for helping me out, I've been guessing around for nearly a week....
