Hi all,

Can somebody explain how to apply acceleration time history load for seismic analysis of buildings?

Hi,

If all supports have the same acceleration history, then the most convenient approach is to replace the base acceleration with a gravity load with the same time history. This will work both for direct time integration and mode superposition.

Alternatively, you can use the Prescribed Acceleration feature for directly prescribing the acceleration on the support points. This comes with some extra cost, as an internal integration of acceleration into displacement is needed, and it cannot be used with mode superposition.

Regards,
Henrik
