How to remove auto boundary divisions on 2D objects?

Hello,

If you create a circle, it seems that the boundary circle is automatically divided into 4 quadrants and the arcs are numbered using a default numbering scheme.

My questions are: - Can we turn the quadrant option off to have 1 outer boundary when creating something like a circle? - If not, what is the number scheme?
