Thermal Expansion

The below post is related to an [archived discussion](/forum/thread/39909/adding-thermal-expansion)

[start here]I have COMSOL 5.2 and am using the Structural Mechanics Module for the Physics. There is no Thermal Expansion options under the Linear Elastic Material as described in the Thermal Loaded Beam example. Has this been removed form 5.2?

Any ideas?

Thanks Alan

Hi Alan,

It sounds like you only have access to the structural mechanics capabilities that are part of the core COMSOL Multiphysics. To determine if you do have access to the add-on Structural Mechanics Module, within the software go to File > Licensed and Used Products. Thermal Expansion is available in the Structural Mechanics Module as well as in the MEMS Module.

Best regards,

Jeff
