Convergence error

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I changed the model from one domain to 2 domains to be able to initialize dependent variables in each domain separately and also assign different values to variables in different domains. Also set the "Consistent Initialization" to "Off" so that I can set the initial values as required by the problem manually. After these 2 changes am not getting the solver to converge.

Other than the convergence problem I am not able to decide between BDF and generalized alpha time stepping methods.

Furthermore, this is a very simplified version of my problem for a bidomain representation of heart tissue (to calculate field, potential) with simple non-realistic geometry and it was taking very long to solve even before the made the 2 domains with an extra coarse mesh and the problem was converging then. How do I make it faster? I really don't need the solver to compute solutions at e-6 s time steps which is what is happening right now.

Some help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Deepika
