How to save log file in transient simulation?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

HI,

I want to study the time increments taken by the transient solver during solving.
This information is written in log file. However, I don't know the exact location of log file.

Would you please let me know, how to access this information in text file?

Thanks,
Rakesh

If you select the Time-Dependent Solver node (or any other solver) you will find the info that you need under the Log tab.

Comsol only saves last 5000 time step information in the log tab.

If the simulation takes several thousand time steps, the first time steps information is scrapped and only last 5000 times steps are available.

Is there any way to output the timesteps to text file in Comsol interface? or any way to find the location of log file?

Try increasing the maximum size allocated by COMSOL for the log file. You will find that value in the menu under Options>Preferences>General>Log window size (characters). The default is 300,000 characters.
