Determining area and volume of axis-symmetric object

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi!

I'm modeling a membrane as an axis-symmetric object. Can you tell me how I can determine the area and the volume of the upper side of the deflected membrane?

I understand there have to be integration-nodes for this tasks in the postprocessing. But where?

Best regards,
Christian Kelb

you can take the volume integration with parameter as 1 with dataset "revolution" 0 to 360 to get the volume

Hi

in 2D axis-symmetry, when you integrate over an edge and use the integrand 2*pi*r you get the revolved surface, but if you define your integration operator, you can check the surface to volume box, then the 2*pi*r are automatically added. Check the units to be sure you have it right.

There are several threads on the forum about this

Good luck
