How can I perform an optimization study step with load ramping

Hi I am solving a non linear problems that has difficulties converging. To improve the convergence of my system I perfom load ramping as stated in this article Improving Convergence of Nonlinear Stationary Models. For this perform an auxiliary sweep as shown in the article above.
My problem comes when I add an optimization study step. When I run it having the auxiliary sweep activie, I get the following error "Undefined function at the first feasible point. Returned solution is not converged."
Would anybody know what is happening?
Thanks!
