Using PML's for Frequency Dependent Structures

Hi everyone,

I am trying to run a simulation for an isolated split ring resonator (SRR) or nanoparticle using the RF module. The setup of that I am using is similar to what is displayed for a period simulation of SRR's shown in the link below. To do this, I encapsulated my domain in PML's and can run the simutation over a range of frequencies which show similar electric and magnetic fields as depicted for the periodic boundary condition simulation. A problem that has arrived is now my S-parameter plots (S11 and S21) both equal zero for all frequencies. Somehow, neither of my ports are recieving signals. I am just using a user-defined port now instead of periodic because I want to simulate plane and circularly polarized excitations on my resonators. I am still quite new to COMSOL and would appreciate any advice or remedy. I should note that when using periodic boundary conditions, my S-parameter plots do show the modal responses I am expecting, so the errors occuring must be due to the newly defined ports or PML configurations.

Thanks!
