Contact length in 2D contacting geometries

I have an ellipse (hyper elastic material) and a rectangle (solid elastic) in my model which are initially not in contact. When a ramped force is applied on the ellipse it comes into contact with the rectangle (rectangle is fixed). Contact line between the ellipse and the rectangle increases with the force. How can I get the contact length as a function of applied force or time? Study is time dependent in this model.
