Gaussian Laser beam

Hi,

I have to define Gaussian laser pulse and I do not know how to do it here in comsol. I tried using the build in gaussian function but could not understand it. it will be very nice if someone can give some idea about it.

Hi

check the Forum (search) there are a few examples using the "Definitions" Gaussian function for lines boundaries, or two gaussian functions for surface boundaries

Thank you very much for your reply Ivar.

I looked at the discussion forum but could not find anything helpful.
I am using a pulsed laser as a heat source. The shape of the laser pulse is gaussian. I am confused about which parameters shall I use to implement this in Comsol. the given gaussian function has only place like position and standard deviation. What if I need to plot laser intensity Vs time or space.
