How to implement Mazars model in simulating the microstructure of cement paste

I have tried the built-in Mazars model to simulate the microstructure of cement paste, where matrix material is assumed to be hydrated phase (square) and pores and unhydrated phases (circle) are randomly dispersed in the material matrix, with the reasonable boundary conditions.
I encountered the issue that the Mazars model accurately predicts the stress-strain response of the RVE without any inclusions (pores/unhydrated) in the matrix material. However, If I include pores/unhydrated, the model does not predict the full spectrum of stress-strain behaviour of the RVE. The reason may be that the damage occurs very quickly at the interface between the material matrix and pores/unhydrated.
Could you please help me identify the root cause of this problem?
Thanks.
