Simulating 2D optical waveguide

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am simulating a 2D optical waveguide for both TE and TM modes.

For TE waves I get reasonable result by setting the cladding core interface as perfect electric conductor.
I use excitation port with analytic mode and exist port also as analytic mode.

However, for TM modes I do not get a reasonable result (please see attached file).
I've switched the core-cladding interface to be perfect magnetic conductor.

Any comments will be helpful. Thanks.

HELLO DAVID
in ur model u have not shown cladding.....only core is there.
what diameter off cladding u r taking...send me ur model.....i will guide you.

Hello,

Regarding optical waveguide modeling in the full-wave regime, please see the following example:

Hello,

I am trying to simulate the same model as you have attached before the Notch Filter, but I am trying to determine the parameters of the radius and the distance for other materials, I am doing a parametric sweep in the radius and in the distance between the waveguide and the microring resonator, and the problem appears when I try to plot the transmission in a surface plot with this two parameters.

Could you help me, please?

Often appears the next message:

No solution found for outer solution number 1000.
