Displacement no symmetric

Hi there,

I modelled a simple beam under axial load (20N). The strain and stress values are matching with the theoretical results. But there is no symmetry in the displacement results. The displacement is not coming same on both the ends.

Please correct me.

Model attached.

Regards,
Naveet.

Naveet-

You have no displacement boundary condition in the x-direction. For some reason, the solver still found a stationary solution even though you have not constrained the rigid body motion in the x-direction.

If you add a displacement condition in the x-direction on the point in the center of the beam you will get symmetry in the displacement solution.

See attached file.
