How to model the water capillary inside fiber and diffusion of water through fiber to air?

Assume we have a vertical fiber in micro size and very bottom of it is in a droplet. We expect that water is wicked inside and outside the fiber; and at the same time water diffuses from inside fiber to outside through fiber (as porous media).
During the modeling I faced two problems:
1) How I can model the capillary problem outside the vertical fiber?
2) I am not so sure about which physics I need to use for capillary, diffusion (permeability) of water through porous media (fiber wall) to air.
I would appreciate if you could help me through these problems.
Best regards
Reza
