Oil filter simulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hey All

I am currently looking into a simulation/verification model of an oil removal filter. I have a gas with small oil droplets/particles in it. In the real world application the gas is passed trough a filter (Porous media) and the majority of the oil is removed.

However I can't seem to get my head around how to include all of the relevant effects in the problem:
- Turbulent fluid and gas flow
- Properties of the filter media
- Removal of the oil from the gas
- Clustering/formation of ever larger oil droplets

I have attached a small drawing. The red areas are the filter element.

Do any of your have a good/brilliant idea on how to approach the problem ? The two-phase flow physic and the Porous media physic can't be coupled via the multiphysics node.

Best regards.
