Problem with adding Thermal Expansion in Linear Elastic Material

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I want to add Thermal Expansion in solid structure under Linear Elastic Material.
When I see equation, theses equations are wrong for thermal stress.
I download a example from this Forum for Thermal Expansion and see these equations are correct.
Would you please why my equation are wrong?
Please attached files.

Regards

Both are correct. One is based on the Green-Lagrange strain (for geometric nonlinearity), and the other is based on infinitesimal strains (does not account for geometric nonlinearity).
