Heat Transfer:Partial Differential Equations for heat loss in metallic rod

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi All !

If someone could pl. give me clue of governing partial differential equations needed for heat loss from a metallic (stainless steel) rod. Rod is about 20 cm in length and little less than 1cm in diameter taken out from oven at 60 C and placed at room temp. 25 C. I need to develop a model showing the heat loss behavior so any relevant information besides the governing equations is more than welcome.....

Thanks

Maybe you can have a look at the example model in the model library -> heat transfer module -> tuturial models, forced and natural convection -> vacuum flask.
Maybe you also have to take radiation into account.
