Hi everybody

It is possible to import data from a txt file to a 1D plot group?

I'm trying to compare two functions, for instance, the temperature vs. time, coming from different projects, and I would like to be able to plot them to the same Canvas, instead of exporting the data and to plot with another program.

Thank you!

David

You can do this in several way, for instance as follows:

- Results > Tables: Add a Table

- Click on Import and browse to the file that contains your data in column form.

- Go to the 1D plot group where you want to plot the table data.

- Add a Table Graph plot and change the value in the Table combo box to the table you just created.

Once your 3D data has been brought in, you can use all the usual post-processing tools to generate plots off that data. Chapter 20 of the Reference Manual, the Postprocessing and Visualization Handbooks (www.comsol.com/offers/Postprocessing-and-Visualization-Handbook-Part-1 and www.comsol.com/offers/Postprocessing-and-Visualization-Handbook-Part-2 ) and various post-processing blogs ( www.comsol.com/blogs/category/all/postprocessing/), videos and tutorials on this website cover these types of capabilities.
Best regards,
Jeff
