Periodic boundary conditions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone!

I have a box with air and a wave that propagates through y – direction.
On the sides I have periodic boundary conditions( floquet periodicity ).
But the strange thing – the solution has periodicity in the x – direction.
Even more – if the width of the box is near 500 nm there is still a periodicity, but if it`s near 700 nm – it disappeares.

Does anybody know an answer to this mystery?

I will be very pleased to get any answer
