Recently, I want to study the indentation properties of composite material. When I choose the 2D plane strain analysis, I don't know how to set the parameter "thickness", becaues the composite material is not the same on every section. Can someone help me? Thanks a lot.

Dear Wanting,

If the out-of-plane thickness is not constant throughout the model then a 2D plane strain analysis may not be suitable. You need a 3D analysis.
