Electromagnetics Modeling Updates in COMSOL® Version 6.1

Duration: 47:51

COMSOL Multiphysics® version 6.1 introduced a variety of enhancements for electromagnetics modeling. Watch this archived webinar to learn about the latest updates.

The presentation starts with a discussion on the new features and functionality in the AC/DC Module, including:

  • Functionality for motor winding layouts and magnet arrays
  • An add-in that can be used to convert matrices of lumped quantities into electrical circuits
  • Multiphysics interfaces for magnetohydrodynamics

Following this, we provide an overview of the RF Module and Wave Optics Module updates. This includes the addition of an easy-to-use symmetry plane feature; a weak formulation port option; and a finite element method (FEM)–boundary element method (BEM) coupling, which can be used to simplify the setup of hybrid FEM–BEM models for electromagnetic waves.

The talk concludes with an introduction to two new features in the Plasma Module as of version 6.1: the Inductively Coupled Plasma with RF Bias multiphysics interface and the Plasma Chemistry add-in.
