parameter estimation

Hi, we must estimate the coefficient in the Laplace equation.
The coefficient is a gaussian function:
c(x,y)=A*exp(-10*(x-0.5)^2+(y-0.5)^2)

and we must estimate A.
we declare C as a global analytic function and A is set as a global parameter, then in the optimization interface we set A as a parameter with an initial value of 12 (the exact value should be 10). When the optimization is executed the error is:
"Error in the variable A evaluation"

How can I solve the problem?

Thank you

Elena
