About the resolution of revolve

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi All,

I am a new user of COMSOL 4.0a. I created a 3D geometry from revolution of a 2D plane. It asks for resolution of revolve. The default is 50. I varied this value, and it does impact the final solution significantly. However, when I change this value, I can not see any difference on the circular edge. Is this number bigger the better the polygon approaches a circle? or otherwise?

Thanks
Qiulin

I have the same "problem". It does not change at all.

The resolution is the subdivision of the circle along which the 2D geometry is rotated. If you set it to a really low value, say 8, then you should definitely see a difference.
