Identity pairs being ignored in structural mechanics problem

The file above (16 MB large) has a simple 3d cylindrical structure being deformed by 10 N boundary load along the x-axis at its tip. There are three concentric cylinders and two spring-like structures. The load is applied only across the upper caps of the three cylinders.
From the results-stress graph and the point evaluation of the displacement of a point close to the tip in the spring domain, one can see that the springs are completely unaffected by the boundary load.
When I applied an additional load only across the spring tips, the resluts showed deformation in the springs alone and ignored the cylinder.
In short, in spite of the correct identity pairs being formed in the definitions section, the software is not recognizing that all the domains must be affected by the load and that they must deform together.
Any clue as to what is happening?
