Extremely Thin Layer

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello everyone,

I would like too add a thin layer copper (0.01mm) on an insulator. Durch diese Schicht, einer gegebenen Stromfluss , und ich möchte das Magnetfeld zu untersuchen.
If I builds up the geometry with insulator and thin copper layer , I always get meshing error because of the dimensions. Is there an elegant way to apply a thin copper layer on the insulator in COMSOL?
The other dimensions of the geometry are in the range of 1-20 cm.

Thank you and best regards,

Thommy

Hi
have you checked the "Thin feature Boundary Layers" that exist in most physics ?
For very thin surfaces this gives you the physics simplified and you mesh only the surface. (Assuming the thickness is small and you have no or simple linear gradient through this small thickness

Good luck
