A very useful document for a first-time user is the Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics manual, available here:
cdn.comsol.com/documentation/5.2.1.262/IntroductionToCOMSOLMultiphysics.pdf
It includes a general description of the workflow and a couple of tutorials with step-by-step instructions. If your interest is more narrowly focused on geometry creation, Appendix A, starting on page 145, is for you.
