COMSOL for 5.1: 'scatterer on substrate'

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi,

I am trying to simulate a gold nano disk with radius 40 nm and height 50 nm on glass substrate. I followed the 'scatterer on substrate' tutorial of COMSOL for 5.1 version (which is my version too). But after simulation it always gave correct result for power reflection coefficient while the scattering cross sections are always zero. For my case, light has normal incidence and the problem which is two step solution, first the Fresnel case without scatterer gives correct results (power reflection coefficient) while the second part, the gold scatterer case with the background field as superposition of transmitted, reflected and incident wave, doesn't work as the scattering cross sections are always zero for all wavelengths or frequency.

Please anyone help me in this issue.
