Parameter Optimization of Large Models

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear All,

I have seen some recent work published in the field of simulation based optimisation using surrogate models. This models are intended to optimise: i.e. the kind of problems whose objective functions are very expensive to evaluate and no analytical or derivative information are available. We concentrate on a particular family of methods, in which surrogate (or meta) models are iteratively constructed and used.

Questions:
@ USERS: have you ever tried such approaches? What is your experience as compared to comsol built in Optimization module?
@ COMSOL: do you have any future plans to support and include such models in the optimisation module?

wishing you a fast convergence!
