Hello Sreeram,
Adhesion and decohesion are features that were added to the Structural Mechanics Module at version 5.2a. We wrote a blog post at the time that should provide you with a helpful introduction to the topic:

A model featuring adhesion and decohesion is available from the Application Gallery section of our website: www.comsol.com/model/adhesion-and-decohesion-of-indenting-ball-42421
Best,
Jeff
