Closed matlab w/o disconnecting from comsol, now it wont open any m files.. plz help

Hi all,

I closed matlab without disconnecting from COMSOL. now I cant open any m file.

Error: 9040
Fatal error.
- Type: NullPointerException

When i googled my problem, I found this:
Warning: Closing MATLAB without disconnecting from COMSOL first (“File” -> “Client/Server/MATLAB” and “Disconnect from MATLAB”) will lead to write block of COMSOL and essentially stop all model editing, including saving the model.

but I could not find any solution to the problem. I tried:

1) restarting my laptop
2) changing permission to "full control" (though it was already there), in properties >> security

Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
