Understand and apply phase for Shell structure

HELLO ALL,

I am new to comsol. I am trying to use comsol to build a shell structure. The equation using under shell includ phi (phase ) and Mph phase for bending. if i do not know the exact value from beginning, how can i apply them? Do COMSOL calculate the value for me or i have to find it in advance?
