Mixed mesh elements

Hello,

for special cases, where there are high gradients very locally in a large domain, it would be useful to be able to mesh around this area very fine with linear elements and further away to have coarser but higher-order elements.

Is this possible? I only found the global choice of element order type in the Discretization tab under the physics node.

you can try the feature "Refine Elements in Box"
(right click "Mesh">"More operations">"Refine", then locate the "Refine Elements in Box" option in the Settings window)
that way you can refine a specific area as you wish.

If your model enables such a change; you can divide your geometry into sections with boolean operations. You can create a section in which your detailed geometry resides and you can create another section in which you can apply a coarse mesh. Between the sections, it will be continuity boundary condition.

I know that it is possible to use different mesh densities in different domains. But is it also possible to use elements of different shape order?
