Can COMSOL 4.2 support mechanical dynamics?

Hi,
I have simple question:
in my model I want to simulate a movable objects. Simply, a rod which is immersed (moved down) in a liquid tank and then move up again.
- First, can COMSOL 4.2 do that?
- if yes, which module I have to use?

Hi
It depends ;) COMSOL is a PDE solver, so so long you can define it it's solvable. But by default standard "rigid body" is not included by default, you need to use the math way.
However, if you can express the physics behind the motion (driving the motion) then you can solve it in COMSOL. in V4 you have different ways to define a moving domain too
Define your physcs, what is interacting, and check the detailes module definition page on the mane web site. I'm sure your local COMSOL rep will help you to choose the right modules
