Contact Pairs in PDE mode

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to model a delamination located between different layers of a laminated composite plate. To recreate the so called clapping effect, i.e., the opening and closing of the delamination, I'm trying to use a contact pair between the surfaces of the two layers. Anyway, as I built the model in PDE mode (in order to implement the constitutive laws of each layer), I can't find a way to introduce the physics in the contact pair window or to manage with all those entities (penalty factor, pressure on the surfaces in contact etc) which are mentioned in all those contact problems approached using the structural mechanics module.

Any answer would be appreciated

Michele
