spherical dielectric resonator eigenfrequency analysis

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I am trying to solve rather simple problem.

I have spherical dielectric electromagnetic resonator (5 um radius, relative permitivity = 4 ) and want to find the frequency and shape of field of its modes. I enclosed the spherical dielectric resonator with larger sphere (15 um radius, filled with air) with scattering boundary conditions (spherical wave) and PML 4 um thick, sectioned to five layers.

The problem is, that I am always getting both the modes of the larger air cavity and the modes of the dielectric resonator, and it is hard to distinguish between them in some cases. Is there any way how to suppress resonances of the air filled surrounding cavity ?

Thanks for help
Michal
