Transient Simulation in Wave Optics

Is it possible to simulate the application example structure given in here using a transient simulation? Basically to have an input laser, at the resonant wavelength, entering port 1 and propagating through the structure before exiting port 2.

I'm very new to COMSOL and have tried many different ways to achive this with no success. Any input is appreciated.
