Laser cladding simulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello every bodies,

I am trying to simulate a laser cladding process with Comsol. However, I got stuck in the element activation in Comsol. I used the activation function in Solid mechanics model to generate a boolen variable "solid.isactive". Then I define the thermal conductivity as a function of the variable. However, the inactivated elements are actually existed. Therefore, other heat transfer processes such as thermal convection and radiation are calculated within these elements, which made unreasonable results.

Can you give me some suggestions on this topic? Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
