Surprising convergence issues in CFD

Hey,
I'm trying to simulate a simple 2D fluid flow, but I have difficulties getting either a stationary or time-dependent result because of convergence issues. The liquid should enter from the defined sides of a square plate and flow to the outlet on one side. I only get a reliable solution when the inlet is only directly opposite of the outlet. This should be very simple situation to simulate, what am I missing here?
Thanks!
