DC coil parametres configuration.

Hi all,

Normally when working with coils, I just set up a ring, and then using the area, number of turns and current, I calculate J and add a External Current Density in the model.

Now I have a problem, that needs some DC parametres, like:

-Isolated DC coil inductance, L0;
-Isolated coil resistance, R0;

I searched how to build this in my model, but i couldn't find anywhere.

I would apreciate some sugestions in this.

Hi

if you are in 2D or 2D-axi mode you have the advanced coil BC's (I do believe they where there already in v4.1) that allows you to get a better coil representing by defining turns and coil wire etc in teh BC directly, and the BC calculates the voltage current taking all this into account
