build complex structure?

Hi, All,
a general question: when you have to build complex structure, is it better to use other software like Solidworks or Autocad over COMSOL own builder? because I just find out we have access to Solidworks and Pro Engineer. if yes, do I need to buy the Livelink for Solidworks?
