Geometry - Sweeping along edges causes "Edges must form a nonclosed chain."

I have met a problem when trying to sweep a face through a combination of 3d parametric curves. The face is defined on a work plane. The 3d parametric curves are caredully defined so that both vertices of a curve are connectted to the both vertices of the other curve. In the other word, the curves are intended to be connected and from a loop.

However, it returns "Edges must form a nonclosed chain." when I do the sweep operation. I also have tried the virtual operations such as merge edges, ignore vertices, etc, but they do not work either.

How can I solve this problem? If cannot solved, is there any other method I can use to achieve the same result as sweep the face along the closed loop?
