Calculation of the deformation in perfect plasticity

Hello, I would like to understand how the deformation is computed for a linear elastic model for a perfectly plastic material and a Von Mises type yield function and a stationnary solver. I am wondering wich deformation is reached since in perfect plasticity the strain increases at constant stress.

From what I see in Comsol the Von Mises stress saturates at the value of the yield stress, even when the input is a high value of the stress. Does it mean that the real stresses and strains are determinated so that the maximal value of the Von Mises stress is the yield stress ?

Thank you in advance
