Semi-Transperent surface boundary condition

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I do not understand the boundary condition for semi-transperent surface in Surface to surface radiation node. The user guide says that sum of emissivity, transmissivity, specular and diffuse reflectivities is equal to 1.

But actually the condition from heat transfer concepts is little different. The sum of emissivity, transmissivity and absorptivity is equal to 1.

In my 2D geometry with a glass surface, the sum of transmissivty and emissivity is already greater than 1 and I am getting unusually strange results.

Can someone explain the boundary condition?

Thank you.
